David Jopling is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at York University, Toronto, Canada. He holds a D.Phil. in Philosophy from the University of Oxford and has pursued interdisciplinary research connecting philosophy with psychology and human sciences. His research interests include philosophy of psychology, human evolution, the origins of human cognition, evolutionary anthropology, paleo-medicine, the evolutionary origins of medicine, and the placebo effect. He is also the author of Talking Cures and Placebo Effects, published by Oxford University Press.
